Platform of European Summer Music Academy in Kosovo
Mitrovica, Prishtina, Peja, Gjakova 2019
The European Summer Music Academy (ESMA) in Kosovo is a project that intends to exchange the best knowledge and experiences among music professors, students and artists from the Western and South Eastern Europe. This project encourages students and professors from different countries of the region to get together and make music together.
The participants in the ESMA seasons have the opportunity to attend masterclasses and work as well with well-known European musicians, performers or/and academics.
In 2019 the European Summer Music Academy will take place for the first time in its history in four cities of Kosovo.
Starting in from July 15 to 21 in Mitrovica, ESMA 2019 will take place also in Prishtina, Peja and Gjakova from August 23 to September 1.
Our focus for this year will be once again on further artistic, solo and chamber music education of the participants and also on successful collaborations among various groups of students, guest professors and artistic programs.
The participation on the chamber music masterclasses depends on the availability and also on the participants’ previous chamber music experiences.
Young musicians form Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and abroad can attend during the ESMA 2019 days masterclasses for guitar, singing, piano, violin, viola, violoncello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, composition, orchestral & opera conducting, chamber music for string, woodwind and brass ensembles.
The official language of ESMA is English; hence, all students should have a good ability of understanding and speaking English.
